Brazil’s largest and pioneering Open Finance platform
Celcoin was created to make it easier for new entrants to build in the financial system—simply, quickly, and without bureaucracy—so companies can offer services once limited to the large banks. Founded in 2016, it is a pioneer and, today, the leading Open Finance reference in the country.
Operating 100% independently from other institutions, it already has more than 130 clients. Among them are more than 20 banks, 8 publicly traded companies, and dozens of fintechs—7 of them considered unicorns—plus brokers, loyalty programs, and telecom operators.
Its multichannel platform lets companies bring innovative experiences to customers, online or offline. That builds an efficient connection among Celcoin, its corporate clients, and their end customers, democratizing access to financial services and making those companies their customers’ go-to reference on the topic.
Companies also get more ease, practicality, and security in their processes, so they can focus on the core business.
Multichannel API solutions
Celcoin’s Transaction APIs cover bill payments (boletos, utilities, and taxes), automatic debit, mobile top-ups, digital content (apps, games, streaming, and prepaid TV), and other payments and transfers—including online TED and the convenience of Pix.
The Physical Network APIs give corporate clients their own correspondent network, with more than 33,000 Celcoin Network points. Every month, more than 7.5 million end customers run financial transactions on that network: one integration connects to thousands of points.
As another practical Celcoin solution, the Geo Location API is tied to those physical points so end customers can find the nearest ones for withdrawals and deposits. The same services also work at Lotéricas and the Banco24Horas network, connected to companies’ platforms through Physical Network APIs. Customers can withdraw and deposit anywhere in Brazil.
The Open Banking APIs create a secure, efficient link between companies and their customers’ data. Customers then get personalized offers and stronger product and service suggestions—all with TLS VPN and strict security controls, in line with LGPD and Bacen resolution 4658.
Recognition in the fintech market
Those proposals and results earned Celcoin significant corporate awards and support from large companies.
In 2017 it was named Best Startup in Brazil by Seedstars World and Best Fintech in Brazil by BBVA Open Talent. In 2018 it was accelerated by Visa, with an international program in Silicon Valley.
In 2019 it raised capital from the largest impact venture fund in LATAM and was the only LATAM and Caribbean fintech to win the global “The Inclusive Fintech 50” award. It also earned Great Place To Work (GPTW) certification and joined the Scale UP Endeavor acceleration program. Celcoin’s 2020 included the boostLAB by BTG Pactual program, another GPTW certification, and a third straight year on the 100 Startups to Watch list from Pequenas Empresas Grandes Negócios. It also closed its second investment round, led by Vox Capital with boostLAB by BTG Pactual.
