Inkling 2 Small on Tinker: use the model and adapt it with your data
Thinking Machines made Inkling 2 Small available on Tinker on November 5, 2026 for use and adaptation with your data, and described a plan to release the model files under Apache 2.0 after external safety evaluation.
What the sources report
On November 5, 2026, Thinking Machines Lab launched Inkling 2 Small. It is a large model that, for each answer, only activates part of its parameters. It takes text and image input.
According to the lab, the model is already on Tinker. There you can use it directly, which in AI is often called inference, and also adapt it with your own data, fine-tuning. The model files, the weights, shipped closed in this launch. In the November 5, 2026 announcement, the lab described a plan to release them under Apache 2.0 the following week, after an external safety review.
Adriano's reading
For product teams, a clear path to use and adapt the model matters as much as the launch itself. I am watching whether Tinker available now, with that file release planned after the review, makes customization more practical day to day.
